A survey released at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, Nevada around the first quarter of this year revealed some interesting choices buyers consider as “essential” or “desirable” features in a home. Energy-efficient windows are among the top priorities consumers look for, ranking second out of the 175 home features.

Survey: ENERGY STAR® Windows a Top Feature for Home Buyers

Woodbridge Home Exteriors, your local source of replacement windows, discusses the survey further.

Highlights of the Survey

The report, which is titled “What Home Buyers Really Want,” involved 4,000 respondents who either purchased a home within the last three years or are planning to buy a home in the next three years. They were asked to identify and rank home features based on how essential they were in their decision to make that home purchase.

Most of the features consumers ranked high in their list related to helping them save on utility costs, add extra storage and make the outside look cleaner. Energy-saving windows ranked second overall in the survey, with the laundry room placing first. Other features included in the top 10 are the patio, garage storage, and exterior lighting, among others.
